Hove Jewellery Works is proud to offer 'hand engraving for jewellers - level 2'. Tis course is an intermediate/improvers class for pupils wanting to take hand engraving to the next level, ideally candidates will have completed the 'introduction to hand engraving' prior to this. The course builds on the core competences of sizing, shaping and sharpening a standard square graver and the ability to control straight and curved lines as a prerequisite. Level 2 introduces the round and flat gravers by studying more complex 3D patterns and designs traditionally used in hand engraved jewellery. Specifically Bright - Flare Cut, Florentine, Single point square gravers and the use of beading tools for mill grain edging. Day one, will give the pupil practice with each of the new techniques. There will be some drawing design elements to the class to explore and develop your own individual style that you can introduce to your own work on Day 2.
